FDA Issues an alert on Italian Olives

I received a call asking for clarification on the alert just issued by US FDA (thanks Dan!)...

Our Products are from Spain including all Ripe Black, Green and Specialty Stuffed Olives.... These are not part of the recall.

It seems one producer only potentially had issues (click on link above to see the official alert form US FDA).

(Please note that Blue Planet Foods has a recall system in place that would alert our clients who may have purchased a recalled or monitored product as soon as reasonably possible if an issue were to arise. From producers to our monitoring of FDA sites, we are ahead of many in that regard.)

Artichoke Updates Spring 2007

Recent rains in the Region of Murcia will affect to the positive side further developments of 2007 Spring Artichoke Crop.

Weather conditions are favorable for the plant as there has been light rains and mild temperatures which will lead to:

-availability: larger quantity of raw material to be harvest &

-length of the crop: the crop should run longer than what is was expected one month ago

We recommended to remain in touch with us that we can moniter the market along next weeks as the outcome of 2007 Spring Season is not clear yet.

And while all this is positive news... The EURO vs. US $ is at an 2 year low and through the 1.35 barrier... Stay tuned!
